Elisabeth's 3rd Birthday!

mommy just loves the picture of elisabeth. we shall call it her birthday picture! she is smelling the tulips at the bus stop. she LOVES to stop and smell the flowers!
she was being a good big sister and teaching me how to smell the flowers too.

so i sat down to give it a try. and daddy stood by as his girls had a blast in the flower patch.

they have such gorgeous flowers in france! we see them everywhere! especially tulips right now. mommy says they are brilliant with their color schemes. so here we are striking a flower pose. all these were taken on way back home after church. we were headed for lunch, naptime and then Elisabeth's party!!!

Here is a shot of Elisabeth's french birthday cake. it was really yummy! it was two layers of some sort of cake with a yellow cream stuff in between and glazed strawberries on top in the middle with powdered sugar around the cake. can you say YUMMY!

i loved the cake! but of course i love to eat!

Par sent Elisabeth's birthday present in our luggage, it was 2 word world dvd's! we love watching word world. it is the only cartoon mommy will let us watch and only 30 minutes a day if we behave. and i gave elisabeth the flamingo for her birthday. and she gave me a strawberry shortcake lemon merangue doll. we exchange gifts on our birthdays. mommy and daddy thought it was a good tradition to start so that neither of us will felt left out. plus it will teach us about being a good giver AND being a good receiver. it started when i was born!

i think we are all going to get checked out alot! elisabeth got a doctor kit from mommy and daddy for her birthday. i think i am really in for it!

yep! told you! i have already received multiple immunizations! thanks alot parents!

Dress Up!

mommy decided friday was the day to pull out of her bag of tricks....dress up clothes! it has been a rough week and so she thought we would really enjoy something new and fun. so here it is and yes i look less than thrilled about it but oh so adorable am i!
it really wasn't too bad for a few minutes but it kind of restricted my movements and i really like to move so i'll leave it to Elisabeth for a while.

Elisabeth kept changing outfits every time mommy brought out a new one.

Elisabeth decided she wanted to try on my outfit too. the shoes fit her better anyway.

Elisabeth had a much better time playing dress up than i did. here she is showing off her gloves. and see the fishing scene on our wall mom did for us in the background. the pelican actually caught 2 with his fishing pole!!

hangin out with mr. potatoe head

we have settled into our new apartment and we like to sit in this chair together. all the furniture is low to the ground so i can climb up in everything all by myself! i love to climb!

our first sunday at french church

even though everyone spoke french, play is a universal language. we had a great time with sarah and enoch and his brother telphine. plus we got to ride the bus there and back! we love the bus!

Pom Potes and kabobs

We had kabobs (which is actually a wrap), pininis (a melted sub) and durums which is like pieces of lamb in a sandwich. Elisabeth kept calling it a burger but she really liked it. Learning to eat here is harder than we thought. We have never been sandwich girls and it seems that that is the favorite food!

WE LOVE POM POTES! It is mashed fruit in a pouch that you suck out of a hole. here we are eating one in our kitchen after lunch.

First Outing

here i am eating my first yogurt in a bag. Yum! we went to the Quik for lunch. it is like mcdonalds but a step down. mommy said it was the best burger she had ever eaten but no one else agreed. we all decided it was the jet lag talking.

here's mommy being silly trying to touch the bridge. who knew it would be this cold here? NOT US! this is right down from our house!

after all that stroller riding and lunch we were worn slap out!

but then after a nap we were up and at it again. we took a bus ride across town to do some shopping. we had a blast with our new friend who joined me for a tea party. She came to show to town to help us get adjusted.

Elisabeth had the french shopping cart. here you use this cart to gather your stuff then you bring your own bag to put it in after you pay.

Elisbeth was worn out by the end of the day and so was mommy!

Our Arrival!

We finally arrived to our new home! there was a whole apartment full of people waiting to welcome us. we had pizza to celebrate! i checked out the setup.

elisabeth made a new french friend, Deborah. she didn't know english and we don't know french but that didn't stop them from having fun in our new room.
